Here are diagrams representing the laser light moving towards the top train during a 1/2 second pulse. Both trains are moving at 1200 miles per hour.
A. The trains are shown in green. The grid on the bottom shows 1/10 of seconds. The top line is marked off in feet. This diagram shows the trains at –1/10 Seconds and –176 feet. This is before the start of the experiment at point 0 when the Laser light is turned on for ½ second.
B. Here the two trains are at point 0. The starting point when the Laser is turned on The yellow dot represents the start of the laser light from Mi’s train.
C. A representation of the yellow light wave moving toward Mo’s tracks.
D. 0.2 Seconds into the experiment. The trains are at 352 feet.
E. 528 feet and .3 seconds.
F. 704 feet and .4 seconds
G. 880 feet and .5 seconds. The light sent at point 0 is half way to the top tracks traveling at 186,000 miles per second. Mi at this point turns the Laser off.
H. 1056 feet down the tracks and .6 seconds elapsed.
I 0.7 Seconds
J 0.8 Seconds
Ja 0.9 Seconds
Jb. 1 second note the light has gotten to the top track but where is Mo’s train?
K. 1.1 Seconds the light has passed point 0 and is just hitting point 176.
Ka. Light is just reaching point 352.
Kb. Light reaches point 528
L. And so on.
